Well done Bhagyanagar, says BJP’s BL Santhosh as party widens lead in Hyderabad civic poll

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has widened its lead in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) poll after the counting of votes in the high-stakes election began on Friday.

Soon after initial trends showed BJP ahead in the Hyderabad civic body election, party general secretary BL Santhosh congratulated party workers and tweeted, “WELDONE BHAGYANAGAR ……!!!! Great going team @BJP4Telangana You made a mark.” GHMC Election Results LIVE UPDATES

During the election campaign to the GHMC election 2020, the BJP had raised its pitch to change Hyderabad’s name to Bhagyanagar.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Telangana BJP MP D Arvind said the change has begun in the state. “The transformation has started in the state of Telangana. You have seen Lok Sabha election results then Dubbaka by-election & now GHMC.”

Actor-turned-politician Khusbhu Sundar, who recently joined the BJP, also took to Twitter as BJP gained early leads.

“Results of #GHMCElections2020 in Telengana clearly shows what people want. We have nothing to say. Complete trust in @BJP4India in @narendramodi ji is for all to see. Thank you Hyderabad. And hyderabadis. Miyan n begum saahibas, aap logaan dil Jeet liye.”

Khushu Sundar said that the BJP has “found foothold and making a deep impact in south India.”

“Victory in Hyderabad is a proof to that. And let me assure you, #TN is not far. #2021elections we will make a grand entry into TN. Continue to believe in @narendramodi ji and his clean govt.”

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also congratulated party workers as BJP took lead in GHMC election.

“Early trends emerging from Hyderabad indicate a change in popular mood and shape of things to come. Policies of transformative development are hard to beat & always triumph over hollow populism and fake narrative,” the Union Minister wrote on Twitter.
