One of the top-most eSports teams in the European circuit, Team Vitality has just made an important announcement regarding India.
The team just launched its India operations along with information regarding content partners. As per the announcement, the company has selected Mumbai as the base of operations.
This comes just weeks after the team launched its Indian social media channels. We also got to know that Team Vitality has teamed up with YouTuber Nischay Malhan for a content creation partnership.
It is worth noting that this step to expand to India did not come out of the blue. Instead, the team first expressed its desire for an Indian expansion earlier in the year. Let’s check out everything we know regarding the Team Vitality India operation here.
Team Vitality India operations live, details
The announcement reaffirms Team Vitality’s commitment to the growth of eSports and video gaming in the country. Beyond Nischay Malhan, the team has also roped in Rachit Yadav, Nitin Chougale, and Saloni Kandalgaonkar.
These four content creators have a combined following of about 1 crore or 10 million on YouTube. Team Vitality noted that these content creators “will host” a multitude of “engaging events and contests” across their personal social media channels.
In addition, they will also post content through the official Team Vitality India social media channels as well on Facebook and Instagram.
It is committed to crafting a competitive branch in India in 2021 with the target to become the best eSports organization.
We also got to know that the company will share more details regarding the expansion in the coming months, if not weeks. The team will work on the basics with a sturdy base and a good community.
Nicolas Maurer, the CEO of Team Vitality issued a statement as part of the announcement. Maurer stated, “Team Vitality constantly strives to build winning teams on the international stage. Our entry into India is a big milestone for us and part of our endeavor to conquer the world of esports. Our mission here is to not just build professional teams but to also make ourselves the most aspirational esports brand in the country.”
The announcement also revealed that Principal of Rewired.gg venture fund, Amit Jain has invested about 34 million in the team. Team Vitality has also assigned Randall Fernandez as the General Manager of the team.
For some context, the team HQ is based out of Paris, France with eight top-performing teams across nine titles. In total, the team has 50 eSports professionals from 13 different countries.
