Superhit Drishyam To Be Remade In Korean, Here’s What We Know

Mohanlal-starrer Malayalam movie Drishyam is one of the hit classics of Indian Cinema and it was such a big hit that it was remade in many Indian languages including Hindi but now the film is going to cross the borders as it has been confirmed that Drishyam will be remade in Korean language as well.
The confirmation regarding this was made at the 76th Cannes Film Festival and the renowned film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh also made a tweet about it which read,
“BIGGG NEWS… ‘DRISHYAM’ TO BE REMADE IN KOREAN LANGUAGE: PANORAMA STUDIOS – ANTHOLOGY STUDIOS MAKE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT AT CANNES… #KumarMangatPathak’s #PanoramaStudios and #AnthologyStudios announce a partnership for the remake of #Drishyam franchise in #Korea. The official announcement was made today [21 May 2023] at #IndiaPavilion, managed by #FICCI, during the on-going #CannesFilmFestival. This would be the first-ever collaboration between an #Indian and #Korean studio and the first time an #Indian film is being officially remade in #Korean language. #AnthologyStudios is founded by former #WarnerBros local #Korean production head #JayChoi, #Parasite actor #SongKangHo and acclaimed director #KimJeeWoon.”
This is the first time that an Indian (Panorama Studios) and Korean studio (Anthology Studios) are getting into collaboration as both the studios will be producing the remake in Korean language and the film is said to start next year.
The Indian film producer Kumar Mangat Pathak stated, “I’m excited that the Drishyam franchise is being made in Korean, a first for a Hindi film. This will not only increase its reach outside India but will also put Hindi cinema on the global map. All these years, we have been inspired by Korean fare, now they have found a muse in one of our films.”
In Hindi remake, the lead role was played by Ajay Devgn and both parts 1st and 2nd of the franchise were big hits.
