Samsung may launch its last Galaxy Note phone next year – Times of India

Samsung may be launching the last Galaxy note handset next year before it finally kills the product range. As per a report by ET News, Samsung will merge the Galaxy S and Note series. The company will start providing the stylus with the S series flagship phones. Samsung will reportedly offer the S-Pen stylus with the upcoming Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Having said that only the top-end variant of the Galaxy S21 will offer the S-Pen stylus. After 2021, Samsung may no longer launch a separate phone under the Galaxy Note series.
The report by ET quoted an official and said, “It is likely that there will only be one model of the new Note series that is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2021. Samsung Electronics will look to focus more foldable smartphones rather than its next Note series in the second half of 2021.”
Samsung is said to launch three handsets — Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+, S21 Ultra — early next year. The Galaxy Unpacked event, where the company will be unveiling these smartphones will most likely be January 14.
While merging the S-series and Note series may make more business sense for Samsung, it would be interesting to see how Samsung manages to offer S-Pen support with foldable phones. Flexible displays are fragile and to support S-Pen, Samsung needs to offer reinforced glass which is flexible as well.
As far as the launch of the next Galaxy Note device is concerned, Samsung usually launches a new Galaxy Note in August every year.
