India opener Rohit Sharma reacted to the team’s T20I series win in Australia, saying he loved the composure on display. Rohit took to social media to send the congratulatory message to Virat Kohli’s men after they took a 2-0 unbeatable lead in the 3-match series.
“What a series win for Team India. Loved the way they played nice and composed. Big (thumbs up) to each one of them,” Rohit Sharma said in his social media post.
Rohit Sharma was rested for the limited-overs leg of the ongoing Australia tour and the Mumbai Indians captain is racing against time to get fit for the Test series after picking up a hamstring injury during IPL 2020.
Rohit Sharma’s fitness will be evaluated on December 11 at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and the opener is likely to miss the first 2 Tests despite being named in the squad for the much-anticipated 4-match series, starting December 17.
India captain Virat Kohli heaped rich praise on his teammates, saying the visitors managed to win despite not having their key players like Rohit and Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested for the first 2 T20Is, keeping in mind the upcoming Test series.
“Yeah meant a great deal. We’ve played as a team in T20 cricket. The fact that we don’t have Rohit and Bumrah, our established white ball-players, in and still doing well makes me happy and I am very proud of this team,” Kohli said after India’s 6-wicket win in the 2nd T20I in Sydney on Sunday.
India’s win was set up by a fifty from Shikhar Dhawan and quickfire forties from Kohli and Hardik Pandya as they gunnned down a 195-run target with 2 balls to spare. Newcomer T Natarajan shone with the ball as he picked up 2 wickets for just 20 runs in only his 3rd international game for India.
