Rahul Roy, who suffered a brain stroke while shooting in extreme weather conditions in Kargil, is currently in recovery. The actor was airlifted to Mumbai from Srinagar after his health condition worsened. He is currently admitted to Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital. Rahul’s friend and director Nitin Kumar Gupta said that the actor might require a stent to prevent future attacks.

Rahul Roy was shooting for LAC in Kargil. Its director Nitin Kumar Gupta told Mumbai Mirror in an interview that the doctors will go ahead with the stent procedure once the actor is stable. Nitin is reportedly taking care of Rahul’s medical expenses as the actor is not able to operate his own account. He said that if anyone would like to help in Rahul’s treatment, the actor will compensate them once he recovers.

Squashing rumours of Rahul Roy being unconscious, Nitin said, “I’ve been in constant touch with his medical staff and his twin Rohit. The latter, who lives in Canada, told me on Thursday morning that Rahul’s physiotherapy and speech therapy is going well. Rohit spoke to Rahul for half a minute and informed that Rahul is conscious and speaking a few sentences. Thanks to everyone’s prayers, he is doing better every day.”

Nitin further talked about the financial aspect of Rahul’s treatment. He said, “I’ve had discussions with his doctors who have said a stent may be required in the middle cerebral artery to prevent cerebrovascular events in the future. It’s a preventive measure and may prove expensive. Once I return, I will speak with the doctors again regarding costs. I can handle the expenses for now, but if anyone wants to help in any way it will just make it easier for me to help him. I am sure once Rahul recovers, they will be compensated.”

Rahul Roy had suffered the stroke while shooting for a digital film LAC: Live the Battle in Kargil. His health deteriorated due to the extreme weather condition there. Rahul was then airlifted to Mumbai and admitted to the ICU at Nanavati Hospital.
