Priyanka Chopra took to Instagram and shared a small video, looking back at her journey at UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund). The actress was appointed as the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for India in 2010 and has been associated with the organisation since the year 2000.

The video begins with Priyanka Chopra saying, “I went back home and I gave my parents a hug and said thank you for just giving me the power to dream. Thank you for telling me that I can be whoever I want to be. And that is what the right of every child in this world should be.” Then, visuals of children from different countries are shown along with some old videos of Priyanka, talking about the welfare of children around the world.

Along with the video, Priyanka Chopra wrote a note that reads, “We are not on this earth alone and if you can have a positive, meaningful impact on even one life, then you will become part of the solution and not the problem. I’ve had the privilege of helping @unicef do just that as their Goodwill Ambassador. As I look back on my 20 year journey, I can truly say that this has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

On Giving Tuesday, it’s a reminder that in these trying times, when the world needs us to step up, giving back is no longer an optionit should be a way of life. #20in2020 (sic).”
