A 24-year-old woman’s fingers were chopped off by her father and brother as she decided to marry someone without their consent. The incident took place in Chamarajnagar district of Karnataka.

Dhanalakshmi and Satya (28), both from PG Palya village of Hanur taluk in Chamarajnagar district, have been in a relationship since two years. They reportedly planned to marry after taking Dhanakshmi’s parents’ consent. However, her parents vehemently opposed the relationship.

But Dhanalakshmi and Satya decided to go ahead and tie the knot anyway and fixed the date for their wedding, December 7, a Times of India report said.

On Saturday Dhanalakshmi’s father Shivaswamy and her brother Mahendra bumped into her near a medical store after which they got into an argument. The argument got heated up and in a fit of rage, her father and brother caught her and chopped off her fingers.
