If you have been experiencing battery drainage issues with your iPhone since you last updated your device, then you are not alone.
According to a report by MacRumors, numerous iPhone users have been complaining on both Apple Developer forums as well as on Reddit that since they updated their iPhones to iOS 14.2, they have been experiencing severe battery drain issues.
As per the report, those complaining have highlighted that the issues include fast drainage — as much as a 50% drop in battery in 30 minutes — as well as longer charging time. Moreover, it has also been mentioned that there is a sudden gain in battery life after restarting their device.
Older iPhone models such as the iPhone XS, iPhone 7, iPhone 6S, and first-generation iPhone SE appear to be the affected models. Even one iPad, the 2018 iPad Pro, also seems to be causing the same issue.
So far, Apple hasn’t acknowledged any such issue but if the software is causing the issue then an update is soon expected to be rolled to fix it.
To recall, the iOS 14.2 was rolled out in November, along with iPadOS 14.2. Both iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 come with support for more than 100 new emojis that include animals, food, faces, household objects and others, along with eight new wallpapers that are compatible with mode light and dark modes of the device.
