A nurse, who was found dead in a PPE kit, was killed by her husband in Gujarat’s Vadodara, police said.
The body of 39-year-old Shilpa Patel, a nurse who worked at Gotri Civil Hospital, was found near Vaikunth Society in Vadodara’s Gotri area.
Police said the husband, Jayesh Patel, killed her by hitting her with a sharp object while she was on her way to work in a scooter. He then dumped the body near the scooter to make it look like an accident.
According to the police, on the day of the incident, Shilpa was on her way to work when her husband in a car followed her and stopped her. He then asked her to sit in his car for a conversation. Shilpa then agreed to sit in his car while her husband parked the vehicle near Vaikuntha Society. An argument broke out between them soon and he then hit her with a “hard plastic object” that was in his car and also strangled Shilpa to death.
During the interrogation, Jayesh told the cops that he later carried his wife’s body in his car and dumped it near her scooter so that it looks like an “accident”, police said.
Police said the couple used to quarrel often and had many arguments over a year.
Jayant Patel has now been been arrested for the crime.
