Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other ministers from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in the national capital will visit the Delhi-Haryana border at Singhu on Monday where thousands of farmers have camped to protest against the Centre’s farm laws.
Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP ministers meet the farmers and also inspect the facilities provided to the protesting farmers at Singhu border by the Delhi government.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had on Sunday extended its support to the ‘Bharat Bandh’ called by farmers’ organisations on December 8. “Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will visit Singhu Border along with his cabinet ministers later in the day,” an AAP functionary said.
On Sunday, Arvind Kejriwal had said that all AAP workers across the country will support the nationwide strike and appealed to all citizens to support the farmers.
Earlier, volunteers of AAP’s student unit and youth wing led by the party’s Punjab in-charge Jarnail Singh held a protest by forming a human chain here in support of the farmers protesting against the Centre’s new agriculture laws.
In solidarity with the protesting farmers, the AAP’s student unit Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) and Youth Wing held a protest by forming a human chain at Connaught Place in Delhi. He said till the government does not withdraw the “anti-farmer” bills, the AAP will keep raising its voice.
