After supporting farmers’ protest against the three farm laws on Twitter and getting into an ugly feud with Kangana Ranaut, Diljit Dosanjh joined the protest at the Delhi border on Saturday. The actor-singer urged the government to meet their demands. He has reportedly donated Rs 1 crore to purchase warm clothes for the protesters. Punjabi singer Singga on his Instagram stories revealed that the Udta Punjab actor made the generous donation and chose not to make a “big deal” out of it.

Punjabi singer Singga took to his Instagram stories to praise Diljit Dosanjh for his stand and made the revelation that the latter has secretly donated Rs 1 crore to buy blankets and other warm clothes for farmers who are protesting on roads in the harsh winter. Expressing his gratitude, Singga said in Punjabi, “Thank you brother, you gave Rs 1 crore for the farmers, for their warm clothes, and nobody knows. You didn’t post about it. Nowadays people can’t shut up after donating Rs 10.”

WHAT DID DILJIT SAY AFTER JOINING FARMERS’ PROTEST?
On Saturday, Diljit Dosanjh joined the farmers protesting against the three farm laws at the Delhi border. Addressing the farmers at the Singhu border, he said, “Hats off to all of you farmers, you have created a new history. This history would be narrated to future generations. Farmers’ issues shouldn’t be diverted by anyone.”
He added, “I want to request the government- Do not divert from the issues. There is no other discussion going on here apart from that related to farmers. Whatever the farmers want, the government should accept. All are sitting peacefully. There is no talk of bloodshed. Everyone twists [facts] on Twitter.”
He also shared a photo of himself with Punjabi singer Bir Singh from the protest. “Baba Ang Sang Sahai Hove #FarmersPortest,” he captioned the photo.

DILJIT RECEIVES SUPPORT FROM FILM FRATERNITY AFTER FEUD WITH KANGANA
After his feud with Kangana Ranaut, which took an ugly turn eventually, Diljit Dosanjh was supported in his stance by members of the film fraternity. Actors like Swara Bhasker, Mika Singh and Richa Chadha, among many others from the Punjabi film industry took to social media to support the singer-actor. Taapsee Pannu and Vijender Singh also commented voicing their support for Diljit and farmers’ protest.
