Ambedkar death anniversary: Ruckus after Hindu Makkal Katchi leader stopped from entering Chennai memorial


A ruckus broke outside the Dr Ambedkar Memorial in Tamil Nadu’s Chennai on Sunday. The ruckus broke out when Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Samantha was stopped by members of Viduthalai Siruthaigal Katchi, a Dalit centric party, as the pro-Hindu group leader tried to enter the Ambedkar Memorial in Chennai.

HMK leader Arjun Samantha was blocked by VSK cadres when he tried to enter the memorial in Chennai to pay tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar on his death anniversary.

A ruckus broke outside the Dr Ambedkar Memorial in Tamil Nadu’s Chennai on Sunday.

The police later intervened to end the commotion.

Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution and a Dalit icon, passed away in 1956 on December 6.
