After TVs, Nokia may launch laptops in India soon – Times of India

It seems that a new product category that you may soon see sporting Nokia-branding in India is laptops. According to a report by NokiaMob, certifications have been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website.
As per the report, the BIS website shows nine different model numbers that have received certification. The model numbers of the nine models are NKi510UL82S, NKi510UL85S, NKi510UL165S, NKi510UL810S, NKi510UL1610S, NKi310UL41S, NKi310UL42S, NKi310UL82S, and NKi310UL85S.
The report predicts that while the first two characters “NK” signify Nokia, the next two characters may be representing the processor details of these models, which means that we may see Nokia-branded laptops to be powered by Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processors.
These laptops are expected to be developed by a Nokia brand licensee, just as we saw in case of Nokia-branded TVs in India that are developed in partnership with Walmart-backed e-commerce giant Flipkart under a brand licensing partnership.
So far, there hasn’t been any official announcement on the launch of any Nokia-branded laptops from the brand.
In related news, Nokia 2.4 smartphone was launched in India last week. The handset is the latest budget offering from HMD Global, the company which holds the license to manufacture Nokia branded smartphones, in the country.
