8 killed in UP’s Kaushambi as sand-loaded truck topples on car returning from wedding


Eight people returning from a wedding in Uttar Pradesh were killed when a truck toppled on their parked vehicle in Kaushambi on Wednesday morning. The family was returning after attending a wedding.

Eight people returning from a wedding in Uttar Pradesh were killed when a truck toppled on their parked vehicle in Kaushambi on Wednesday morning. The family was returning after attending a wedding.

The incident took place around 3:30 am on Wednesday. There were 8 people inside the Scorpio car on which the truck overturned. Seven of them, including the driver, died immediately.

The sand-filled truck suffered a tyre burst as a result of which it overturned. Further probe is being conducted, said the Kaushambi district magistrate.

Most of the deceased were women from a family who were returning after attending a wedding. The entire group was buried under the car and the sand-filled truck.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath expressed grief at the accident and assured help for those injured in the incident.
